TAC BUI HOLDS HISTORIC GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY FOR MAJOR INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT
A major phase of infrastructural development has officially commenced at the Tactical Air Command, Bui, following a historic groundbreaking ceremony held at its permanent site on Friday, 12 December 2025. The event marked a significant milestone in the Command’s growth, reinforcing its commitment to operational readiness, personnel welfare, and long-term strategic development.

The first phase of the project will focus on the construction of office complexes, residential accommodation, and other auxiliary facilities required to support day-to-day operations. Subsequent phases will include additional office and accommodation facilities, as well as critical aviation infrastructure such as a helipad and a runway or airstrip, aimed at enhancing operational mobility and rapid response capability.

The ceremony featured traditional rites, followed by prayers of consecration offered in the Christian, Islamic, and Traditional faiths, symbolising unity, inclusiveness, and the invocation of divine guidance for the successful execution of the project.


The Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Bui Power Authority (BPA), Engineer Samuel Nimako Boateng, who served as Guest of Honour, delivered remarks on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer, Engineer Kow Eduakwa Sam. He underscored the importance of inter-agency collaboration and reaffirmed BPA’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote institutional synergy and national development.

The Commander, Air Force Base Accra, Air Commodore Elvis King Arneson, represented the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Vice Marshal Eric Agyen-Frempong. In a message delivered on behalf of the CAS, he emphasised that infrastructure development remains a critical enabler of operational effectiveness, safety, and efficiency within the Ghana Air Force. He commended the leadership of TAC Bui and its partners for prioritising sustainable development while maintaining high professional standards.

In his opening remarks, the Commander TAC Bui, Air Commodore Kwabena Kissiedu Manukure Atiemo, described the project as a strategic investment aimed at improving facilities, enhancing operational effectiveness, and providing a conducive working environment for personnel. He expressed appreciation to key partners and stakeholders, including the Bui Power Authority, German Armed Forces Technical Advisory Group (GAFTAG), North Mo Traditional Council, Zonda Tec Ghana Ltd, CGM Engineering, M-TES, CK Engineering Ltd, and Sister Security Services, for their invaluable support.

He also commended officers and airmen for their dedication and professionalism and acknowledged the support of sister units, including the 67 Artillery Regiment, 50 Engineer Regiment, and 3 Infantry Battalion. Representing the traditional authorities, the Acting President of the North Mo Traditional Area, Nnaa Dr Agbaah Jaaga III, expressed appreciation for the partnership between TAC Bui and the host communities and pledged continued traditional and community support for the successful execution of the project.
