6 GARRISON HOLDS JOINT INDUCTION RELIGIOUS SERVICE

The 6 Garrison has held a Joint Induction Religious Service to formally usher into office its four recently appointed Commanders. They include the Base Commander, Air Force Base Tamale, Air Commodore Nana Adu-Gyamfi, who doubles as the 6 Garrison Commander, the General Officer Commanding Northern Command, Brigadier General Worlanyo Agbebo, the Commander Air Force Training Command, Air Commodore Richard Danso, and the Commanding Officer 69 Airborne Force, Lieutenant Colonel Evans Komedjah.

 

 

The ceremony was held on Sunday, 31 August 2025, at the Air Force Base Tamale with the Northern Regional Minister, Honourable Ali Adolf John, as the Guest of Honour and the Director General, Religious Affairs (DG RA) of the Ghana Armed Forces, Brigadier General Benjamin Godson Kumi-Woode, as the Officiating Minister.

 

 

Delivering his sermon under the theme “Esprit de Corps is a Force Multiplier”, the DG RA stressed that, success in the military is the result of collective will, mutual trust, and shared sacrifice. He urged the Commanders to maintain teamwork, lead with integrity, humility, and sacrifice in order to achieve common goals. He further encouraged the troops to remain loyal to their Commanders and to support them in fulfilling their mandates.

 

 

In his homily, the Garrison Imam, Imam Abdul Rahim Yamusah, prayed for divine wisdom, patience, and strength for the newly inducted leaders. He emphasised that leadership is a trust that must be carried out with fairness in accordance with the will of God and for the benefit of the people they serve.

 

 

The Guest of Honour, in his address, noted that the ceremony carried great significance as it reflected gratitude to God, acknowledged the sacrifices of service personnel, and symbolised a rededication to peace and service in the five Northern Regions and beyond. He expressed appreciation to the Military High Command for its pivotal role in repositioning security in the North and for its commitment to ensuring that 6 Garrison remains a stronghold for security, national defence and development.

 

 

Speaking on behalf of the inductees, the 6 Garrison Commander, Air Commodore Nana Adu-Gyamfi, pledged their collective commitment to serve with integrity, courage, and professionalism. He assured that the new leadership would foster inter-service collaboration and empower troops to maintain peace in the Northern Sector while upholding the values of the Ghana Armed Forces.

 

 

The occasion also featured a solemn farewell service for personnel of the 69 Airborne Force as they prepare for peacekeeping duties in Lebanon with UNIFIL GHANBATT 92.

 

 

The induction service brought together Generals, Senior Officers, members of the Regional Security Council, Traditional Leaders, families of service personnel, and other dignitaries.
